Car Seat Safety

From the moment a baby leaves the hospital, and with every trip in the car, parents must secure every child in a car seat that is appropriate for their age and height.

Babies car seats must be facing backwards until age 1 and he/she is at least 9 kilos. That is to say that if the child is one year old but is not 9 kilos or the child is 9kg but not yet one year, they should remain in a backward facing infant car seat.

Babies car seat should be position in a back seat of the car and not in the passengers seat next to the driver due to the danger of air bag release and potential death.

Car seats should be positioned at an angle of 45 degrees. Straps of the seat belt should be set at the lowest possible position over the shoulders of the baby.
