Sounds great, how do I join the great team at Leumit?

Its easy! Just call Rivka at 050-995-5148 and in under 10 minutes you can be part of the most advanced medical care in Israel. Or just go to your local post office, tell them that you would like to change Kupot, sign the form and that’s it! In 2-3 days, you will have access to our great staff, laboratory services and some medications. It will usually take 1-2 months for you to become a full member of the Kupah depending on the date you sign up. Ask any of the secretaries for the details on when you will become a full member.

Great website, but why should I change to Leumit?

Lots of reasons! But the most important are:

  • Quality: our physicians have fantastic training (Harvard, Johns Hopkins/Sinai, Einstein, etc.); they keep up date with the most recent advances in medicine; they are consultants to many local and national Rabbanim.
  • Service: We are the only kupa with TWO primary care branches in RBS Aleph (Dolev and Tzeilim) in addition to our new branch in RBS Gimel. We are the ONLY kupah in RBS with radiology services in the branch. But most of all, our physicians spend time with our patients and are committed to PATIENT ADVOCACY meaning that we are committed to you – 24/6! And, when there is an admission to the hospital, they will either visit you personally, or will be in close contact with the hospital staff regarding your care.
  • Availability: We are the only Kupah offering 24-hour-a-day phone coverage by at least one of the physicians in our group. We are the only kupah open Motzei Shabbat and Motzei Chag.

We are new olim and don’t know any Hebrew and the post office thing seems a bit intimidating, can you help?

Of course! Actually you dont have to go to the post office anymore to change kupot. We have volunteers to help out with new olim. Call Rivka at 050-995-5148. Where are you located? We now have TWO locations in RBS Aleph: Nachal Tzeilim in the main shopping area and Nachal Dolev 62, and a new branch on Chabakuk in RBS Gimel.

You have 2 branches, radiology, physician consultation 24/6, urgent care motzei shabbat, a great website, a pharmacy in Tzeilim, your branch in Tzeilim is open 8am-7pm, amazing local Anglo doctors, why hasnt everybody joined Leumit?

Beats us! Sign up now. Call Rivka at 050-9955148.

Does Leumit have any particular hospital affiliations?

Regarding emergency room visits, hospitalizations for acute illnesses and pregnancy and delivery, the physician and patient can decide where they want to go without limitation. Regarding other hospital based procedures such as radiological imaging or surgical procedures, each kupah has a preference for each procedure. If there is a specific procedure that you would like to know about, please call the kupah.

Is there a difference between the supplemental insurance plans between the kupot?

In general, there are not big differences. One major benefit of Leumit’s policy is the ability to be able to go for a second opinion to any doctor in the country (with at least 5 years of experience) and receive 80% of the cost of the visit back. Most kupot require you to a doctor who is on their list of second opinion specialists. The list is often very limited and often it is only to the head of a department in a hospital.

What services do you provide for child development?

We have an outstanding child development program that provides OT, PT, and speech. It is run by Dr. Tzipora Sklar, former director of Beavioral and Developmental Pedaitrics and SUNY downstate. Speech therapy is available in English, Hebrew and Yiddish. The cost per visit is the lowest of any of the Kupot.

What specialists are available in Leumit in Beit Shemesh?

Orthopedics, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Podiatry, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Pulmonary, ENT, Allergy/Immunology, Endocrinology, Surgery, Psychiatry, Vascular Surgery, Dietitian and always new ones coming.

What alternative medicine services do you have available?

In Beit Shemesh, we have homeopathy, chiropractor, osteopathy, Paula method, acupuncture, refloxology, Feldenkreis, naturopathy(herbal and oil remedies, Bach method, etc). Shiatzu, biofeedback, Alexander technique, Tai Chi, Chinese medicine, Alboim technique, and yoga are also available in the Jerusalem area. Our prices are also the lowest of any of the kupot.

Actual statements by people who have moved to Leumit:

Me and my husband used to fight about who would take the kids to the doctor because neither of us wanted to go. Now we fight about who will take the kids to the doctor because we BOTH want to go!

When I arrived (at the kupa), I was surprised by the pretty garden, climbing structure for kids, fresh paint on the walls, etc. but was totally unprepared for what lay ahead. When I went in to see Dr. Wolff, I found a frum, American woman who actually introduced herself (no, I don’t think I’ve had a doctor do that in the past six years), spent enough time with me, asked questions, and quickly helped iron out a red tape problem with a prescription that I needed. After meeting with (the staff)and hearing about their vision for American style health care in Israel, we switched the rest of our family over to Leumit and couldn’t be happier. All of the doctors are friendly, thorough, helpful, take their time, available by email and cellphone and go out of their way to make things as easy as possible. It is great to feel like we are in such good hands. And my five year old BEGS to go to the doctor so he can climb on that play structure.

You guys call yourselves the “A-team”, but we call you the “Dream Team.”

Finally, I feel like a doctor is taking of all my and my family’s issues instead of having to do everything myself. Thank you that you opened. “It was so wonderful to have my doctor to call at 11pm when I got sick and to have my doctor calling me and the doctors in the hospital when I was in the hospital. I felt very cared for.
